- How far in advance should I book?
- Are last-minute bookings accepted?
- What information is required to book?
- Who should make the booking when a model is represented?
When is a booking considered confirmed?
A booking is considered confirmed only after the studio has accepted the booking and any required deposit, payment, agreement, or documentation has been received.
An inquiry, email exchange, or discussion about availability does not automatically reserve a date.
Does submitting an inquiry reserve a date?
No.
Dates remain subject to availability until the studio confirms the booking.
If a specific date is important, clients should wait for written confirmation before making non-refundable travel, accommodation, or production commitments.
How far in advance should I book?
Advance booking is recommended, particularly for agency testing, multiple-model sessions, travel, hair and makeup, styling, location requirements, or projects with firm deadlines.
The studio may accept shorter-notice bookings when availability allows.
Are last-minute bookings accepted?
Last-minute bookings may be accepted when studio and production availability allows.
Rush requests may require additional production arrangements or fees. Any applicable terms will be communicated before the booking is confirmed.
What information is required to book?
Clients should provide enough information for the studio to understand the scope of the requested photography.
This may include:
- Client or agency name
- Model name
- Contact information
- Requested date and preferred time
- Number of models
- Type of photography
- Number of looks or wardrobe changes
- Hair, makeup, or styling requirements
- Location requirements
- Intended use of the photographs
- Agency or client-specific requirements
- Required delivery date
Who should make the booking when a model is represented?
When a model is represented by an agency, the studio should follow the agency’s booking and communication requirements.
Agencies should communicate any restrictions, usage requirements, approvals, or contractual conditions before photography begins.
The studio will not knowingly circumvent an agency’s booking process or negotiate agency-controlled terms directly with a represented model.

- How is pricing determined?
- Is a deposit required?
- When is the remaining balance due?

This may include:
- Session length
- Number of models
- Number of looks
- Studio requirements
- Location requirements
- Production assistance
- Hair and makeup
- Styling
- Retouching
- Rush delivery
- Licensing or commercial usage
Is a deposit required?
A deposit may be required to secure a booking.
When required, the deposit amount and payment deadline will be specified in the booking confirmation.
When is the remaining balance due?
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, any remaining balance is due according to the payment schedule provided with the booking.
Commercial, agency, or recurring clients may have different billing arrangements established in writing.
Can additional charges occur?
Yes.
Additional charges may apply when the scope of the project changes after the original booking has been confirmed.
Examples include additional shooting time, additional models, additional looks, location changes, additional production services, rush delivery, extensive retouching, or expanded image usage.
How are agency bookings billed?
Agency bookings may be billed directly to the agency, the model, production company, or another authorized party depending on the booking arrangement.
The responsible billing party should be established before the shoot.
Are commercial usage fees included?
Not automatically.
A standard test shoot or portfolio session should not be assumed to include unlimited commercial licensing.
Commercial advertising, brand campaigns, paid media, packaging, product marketing, resale, or other expanded usage may require separate licensing and fees.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
- What happens if I need to cancel?
- What happens if the studio must cancel?
- Can a session be rescheduled?
- What happens if I cancel at the last minute?
- What happens if a model does not show?
- What happens if I arrive late?
What happens if I need to cancel?
Clients should notify the studio as soon as possible if a session needs to be cancelled.
Cancellation and deposit terms may vary depending on the booking and will be stated in the applicable booking agreement.
What happens if the studio must cancel?
If the studio must cancel due to circumstances within its control, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule the session.
If rescheduling is not possible, any applicable prepaid amount will be handled according to the booking agreement.
Can a session be rescheduled?
Rescheduling may be possible depending on availability.
Clients should request changes as early as possible.
What happens if I cancel at the last minute?
Late cancellations may result in loss of a deposit or other cancellation charges depending on the booking terms.
This is particularly important for sessions involving reserved studio time, hired crew, hair and makeup, styling, locations, or other third-party production expenses.
What happens if a model does not show?
A model’s failure to appear for a confirmed session may be treated as a cancellation.
Agencies should notify the studio immediately if a model becomes unavailable.
What happens if I arrive late?
Late arrival may reduce the available shooting time.
Unless otherwise agreed, the session end time does not automatically move because of a late arrival.
Additional time may be available at the studio’s discretion and may result in additional charges.
The Photography Session
- Will the model receive direction?
- Who is responsible for wardrobe?
- Who is responsible for hair and makeup?
- Who is responsible for styling?
- Can the creative direction change?
- Can guests attend?
- Can clients bring equipment or crew?
Will the model receive direction?
Yes.
Direction is part of the photography process and may include posing, movement, expression, positioning, lighting, and changes between looks.
Who is responsible for wardrobe?
Unless otherwise agreed, the model or agency is responsible for providing wardrobe appropriate to the shoot.
The studio may provide wardrobe guidance before the session.
Who is responsible for hair and makeup?
Hair and makeup are not automatically included unless specifically stated in the booking.
The client or agency may provide its own professionals or request recommendations from the studio.
Who is responsible for styling?
Styling responsibilities will be determined before the shoot.
Unless specifically included, the model or agency should not assume that a stylist or wardrobe service is provided by the studio.
Can the creative direction change?
Minor creative adjustments are normal during a photography session.
Significant changes to the agreed concept, production requirements, location, number of models, or scope of work may require a revised estimate or booking agreement.
Can guests attend?
Guests should be discussed with the studio in advance.
For models under 18, parental or legal guardian participation will be handled according to the applicable minor requirements.
The studio reserves the right to limit attendance when necessary to maintain a safe, focused, and professional working environment.
Can clients bring equipment or crew?
Additional crew, photographers, videographers, assistants, stylists, or equipment should be disclosed before the session.
Additional people or equipment may affect the studio’s production requirements and may require prior approval.

- How many images are delivered?
- Are images retouched?

- How long are files retained?
- Can additional images be purchased?
How are final images selected?
The studio selects images based on technical quality, expression, composition, usefulness, and the overall objectives of the session.
The strongest photographs are prioritized rather than delivering large numbers of repetitive images.
How many images are delivered?
The number of delivered images depends on the package or booking agreement.
Unless otherwise specified, clients should not assume that every photograph taken during the session will be delivered.
Are images retouched?
Selected final images receive appropriate post-production.
Standard retouching may include color, exposure, cropping, tonal adjustments, and appropriate skin cleanup.
Extensive retouching, compositing, or specialized image manipulation may require additional fees.

Delivery timelines depend on the scope of the session and the retouching requirements.
The expected turnaround will be communicated during booking.
Rush delivery may be available for an additional fee.

RAW camera files are not included unless specifically agreed to in writing.
The studio retains control over the selection and processing of final delivered images.

Availability, pricing, and retouching requirements will be provided upon request.
Copyright & Ownership
- Who owns the copyright?
- Does the model own the photographs?
- Does an agency own the photographs?
- Does purchasing images transfer copyright?
- Can delivered images be altered?
Who owns the copyright?
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, copyright in photographs created by Laremont Studio remains with the photographer.
U.S. copyright law generally recognizes the photographer as the copyright owner of an original photograph unless rights have been transferred or another legally applicable arrangement applies. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}
Does the model own the photographs?
Being the subject of a photograph does not automatically transfer copyright ownership of the photograph to the model.
Models receive the usage rights specifically granted through the booking, image delivery terms, model release, or other applicable agreement.
Does an agency own the photographs?
Agency representation does not automatically transfer copyright ownership to the agency.
Agency usage rights should be established through the applicable booking, licensing, or agency agreement.
Does purchasing images transfer copyright?
No.
Payment for photography or delivery of digital files does not by itself constitute a transfer of copyright ownership.
Any copyright assignment must be expressly agreed to in writing.
Can delivered images be altered?
Images should not be materially altered, manipulated, filtered, or edited in a manner that misrepresents the work without permission.
Cropping or formatting for reasonable portfolio or social-media presentation may be permitted where consistent with the applicable usage agreement.
Image Usage & Licensing
- Can models use the photographs in their portfolios?
- Can models post the photographs on social media?
- Can photographs be used commercially?
- Can photographs be used in advertising?
- Can a brand use test photographs?

- Does usage include worldwide rights?
- How long does a license last?
- Are buyouts available?
Can models use the photographs in their portfolios?
Yes, subject to the specific terms of the session and any agency restrictions.
Portfolio use is generally different from commercial advertising or licensing the photographs to another party.
Can models post the photographs on social media?
Models may generally use approved delivered images for personal professional promotion, subject to the applicable booking and agency terms.
Images should not be sold, relicensed, or presented as the model’s own copyrighted photography.
Can photographs be used commercially?
Commercial usage is not automatically included in a standard test shoot.
Commercial usage should be discussed and agreed to before the images are used commercially.
Can photographs be used in advertising?
Advertising use may require additional licensing, fees, and appropriate model or agency approval.
Advertising includes, but is not limited to, paid digital advertising, print advertising, billboards, product packaging, promotional campaigns, and other paid brand placements.
Can a brand use test photographs?
A brand may not assume that a test shoot provides unlimited commercial rights simply because the brand, agency, or model participated in the shoot.
Any brand or commercial usage should be disclosed and agreed to before the images are used.
Can photographs be licensed to third parties?
Third-party licensing requires appropriate authorization.
A model, agency, brand, or other party may not automatically sublicense or transfer rights that were not granted to them.
Does usage include worldwide rights?
Not automatically.
Territory is part of the licensing terms and may be limited or expanded depending on the project.
How long does a license last?
The duration of a license depends on the applicable agreement.
Portfolio use, editorial use, advertising campaigns, and commercial licensing may have different terms.
Are buyouts available?
Buyouts or expanded licensing arrangements may be available for qualifying projects.
Buyout terms must be agreed to in writing before the applicable commercial usage begins.

Is a model release required?
Release requirements depend on the intended use of the photographs, the parties involved, and applicable law.
Laremont Studio may require a signed release before using images for specified promotional or commercial purposes.
What does a model release cover?
A release may address the permitted use of the model’s name, likeness, image, and photographs.
Depending on the project, it may also specify media, territory, duration, promotional use, commercial use, editing, licensing, and other applicable rights.
What happens when a model is agency represented?
Agency requirements take priority when the agency controls the model’s booking or usage terms.
The studio should receive any applicable agency restrictions or release requirements before the session.
Does a test release allow commercial use?
Not necessarily.
A release should be interpreted according to its actual terms and scope. A release for portfolio or promotional use should not automatically be interpreted as authorization for unrelated commercial advertising.
Can a model withdraw a release?
A signed release is a legal agreement and its modification or withdrawal depends on the terms of the release and applicable law.
Models and agencies should review the scope of any release before signing.
